Seattle Drum Circle – Sundays at Golden Gardens Park

Jam in the Sand with the Sunset!

Everyone is Invited – Serious Percussionists, Free Spirits, & Families

Mar.19 to Sept.24, 2017

Golden Gardens Park

8498 Seaview Pl NW, Seattle, WA 98117 – (On the sand just out from the concession stand)

We will be celebrating life, nature, and seasonal change. March 19th, the Sunday before the Vernal Equinox, will be our first drum circle.

The Seattle Drum Circle is a free-spirited, artistic gathering created by the people for the people. We will gather about an hour before sunset every Sunday throughout the Spring and Summer. The final session is scheduled for September 24th, the Sunday after the Autumnal Equinox. The main objective is to get in tune with each other and ourselves by sharing rhythm to create a collective voice.

It is a free-form, family-friendly, circle of people with drums, shakers, congas, bongos, tambourines, buckets, water jugs, cans, dancing feet, etc. (Be Creative!). There is no leader. The jam session begins when YOU arrive. Sitting in a unity circle, we will play freely together to create a harmonious sound of artistic expression.

The drum is considered to be the first musical instrument used by humans. Historians and music ethnologists agree that the drum has been utilized by virtually every culture known to man. There is a universally held belief that the original purpose of the drum was to communicate. Let the music move you naturally without thoughts or words, just feelings.

The only rule is RESPECT – for yourself, others, and Mother Nature.
